Several years ago, while on vacation in Vancouver, I began teasing out a thought experiment during a prayer walk. In part, this line of thinking was sponsored by Len Sweet’s “prophecy” that the church of the future will be indistinguishable from the world. Len, clearly, doesn’t mean that the church will become less holy. No–he means that the church will have successfully integrated itself into the community in such a way that no one will be able to tell when real life stops and church life begins.

Even though my thinking has since evolved from this audio recording, I still remember that walk as a turning point both in my ecclesial and missiological understanding.

Maybe it’ll do the same for you.
