If you’re looking for something to help make Revelation a little more personal, Reversed Thunderby Eugene Peterson is a great place to start.
Peterson digs through Revelation from beginning to end, keeping a meditative tone throughout. While he doesn’t get into the more difficult parts of the book, Peterson’s insights are well worth the read. As a devotional guide to Revelation, Reversed Thunder is an excellent choice. Of the book, Peterson says, “I have submitted my pastoral imagination to St. John’s theological poetry, meditated on what I have heard and seen, and written it down in what I think of as a kind of pastoral midrash.”
