Biblical scholar N.T. Wright has written a series of biblical commentaries “For Everyone.” These commentaries put Scripture in its original context without using lofty theological terminology. Wright gives concrete explanations of what the text means for people today in short readings that are great for personal devotions. Just be careful not to fall more in love with Wright than with the Bible. (Trust us, that’s a real threat!)
