Giving is an act of worship. Too often, however, God and money make uncomfortable bedfellows. Yet we would be foolish to deny the clear teachings of scripture on the subject. The Bible, after all, contains 2350 verses about money—making it the single most considered subject in the collection of all 66 books. Jesus himself, spoke more about money than he did about any other topic. Why? Because money, and what we do with it, reveals what’s truly important to us.
When you give, whether it’s a dollar or several hundred dollars, know that you’re investing in God and in his kingdom. Give generously of your money and your heart. They go together.
No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
