The Bible often uses basic math to teach us about both money and spiritual wellbeing.

1. Addition. It’s the simplest form of math. You must be faithful to add all that you can to your success before God will step in to do his part. Add your work, your planning, your prayer, and your persistence—and good things will follow.

2. Subtraction. Hebrews 12.1 says to lay aside every weight and sin that sets us back. We must discipline ourselves to subtract and take out destructive habits and sin, which will stop us from inheriting all the blessings of God.

3. Division. You must divide, organize, and diversify your abilities and money. In other words, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Genesis 13.2 says Abraham was rich in livestock, silver, and gold. He had several channels through which God could bless him. So do you. Ask him to show you what they are.

4. Multiplication. God promises to bless those who honor him so their wealth will grow 30, 60, and 100-fold.
