Dear Paul,
I have been attending our church for several years now and generally find you to be a decent spokesperson. So, I hope you understand that I’m not usually one to complain. In most ways you are quite adequate; however, I am saddened and offended that you would use the term “filthy rags” when talking about our ‘righteousness.’
We all know what that means, and I’m quite certain that referring to issues of feminine hygiene and menstruation are the exact opposite of what Jesus wants us to say and do in his church.
