God wants us to be generous and to allow his generosity to flow through us. That’s why he blesses us, so we can experience the joy of passing on those blessings to others.
Unfortunately, many people are more interested in hoarding their blessings. They become like swamps—where good things flow in, get stuck, and rot. In order for the good things we have to stay “good,” we must aid the flow of God’s blessing so it proceeds in unmitigated goodness.
But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?
